Day 22

Reading Guide

Have you ever been so afraid of failure, that you decided not to take a risk? Have you ever feared other people’s opinions so much that you don’t do what you wanted to do? Have you ever missed out on an opportunity because of your painful past experiences? Sometimes we are so afraid of disappointment, that we become frozen in fear. We become paralysed by the “what if” mentality and dwell in our past disasters. But if we expect perfection from ourselves, we will always be let down. The Lord is compassionate, meaning He desires to help us in our stress, fear, and brokenness. When we understand that we don’t have to be stuck in our past, present, and future mistakes, then (with Him) we’re able to try new things, discover what we are good at, and show others compassion as well! What areas do you need the comfort of God’s compassion, and what areas can you live out compassion?

Scripture

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
